This is so our kid

Well, we finally went for our ultrasound yesterday. First and foremost, everything looks great! Baby is growing right on time, all the parts are there, placenta is in the right spot and my cervix is closed. Then comes the time to find out the sex of this dear child. Well, of course, because we really want to know, this kid would not give up the money shot! We saw everything, kidneys, bladder, lips nose eyes, heart, spine, hands, feet...but no little boy parts nor girl parts grrrrrr. The baby is sitting breech almost right on my cervix with legs crossed underneath so that all we saw was butt and feet. The kid would not cooperate at all. Stubborn like her mother according to Mike hahaha. Thing is, since we didn't see any parts at all, the ultrasound tech said that if she were to tell us the sex, she would say it is most definitely a girl...she's 90% sure that it is a girl. When she did move her legs a little, we still didn't see any dangly parts so that's what makes the tech think that it's a girl. I agree with her. Usually when it's a boy, it's pretty obvious. There was nothing at all, so we are saying girl. It was actually funny because she was moving her mouth constantly like she was talking to us and Mike said "Oh yeah, it must be a girl, look at her yacking away already" hahaha. We are going for a 4D ultrasound at the end of July and hopefully it will confirm our girl. The tech was really nice, she said that since I work there, that I could come and see her anytime and if she's not busy, she will take another look to see if we can get the money shot. She did print some pictures for us but they are not very good...not clear at all. So lavender and pink it is! I think I'm gonna keep the tags on everything just in case. Now let the name choosing battle begin!

Oh and my mom is asking me for belly pictures because I have most definitely popped out now. I will try to do so asap. We are going to Disneyland next week so I'm sure we will have pictures then. Of course, I won't be doing any rides that I am not supposed to do. I will be the backpack holder and will be doing some shopping! I can't wait!!

16 weeks tomorrow!

I can't believe how fast this is going! I went to my 16 week appointment today and everything is fine. I've only gained 2 pounds which baffles me because I feel like I've gained about 10-15. My blood pressure was terrific (as always). My uterus is the perfect size for 16 weeks and the little monkey's heart rate is perfect. He/she was moving around when she was trying to get the heart rate...it was kinda funny. Our kid is already like Mike and I...stubborn. I just hope that he/she is not too stubborn when we go for our next ultrasound because we really want to find out the sex. Our next ultrasound is May 27th so hopefully we'll be able to make the announcement on that day.

Not much else to discuss really. Oh, I did start to feel some little flutters. It is the coolest, but weirdest feeling ever. I love it. It's especially at night and after I've had something sugary. I can't wait for Mike to be able to feel it too.

New Ultrasound pictures!

I am now over 13 weeks yay!! I don't have an appoinment with the Ob until May, but I've been having a lot of fun with the ultrasound machine at work. Everybody at work wants to see our little monkey on the screen so I've done an ultrasound almost everyweek and it's so fun. He/she is so active now. Last week the baby was doing backflips and jumping up and down as if my uterus was a trampoline...too funny. The best was when the baby decided to do some "air humping" for Iwan. He thought that was the most hilarious thing. That's our kid alright hahaha! Well, I did an ultrasound last night because my friend Hayley wanted to see the monkey and he/she was sucking it's thumb the whole time. Plus we saw that the monkey has the longest legs and arms...totally takes after daddy. It's hard to get good pictures on the work ultrasound machine especially when the little one moves so much but I got a couple just to show how much that kid has grown in the last few weeks...amazing.

As for me, if it wasn't for the ultrasounds and the doppler, I wouldn't feel pregnant. I feel really good. No more fatigue, no nausea. Only thing is that my fibromyalgia has really been acting up the last few days. Last night I actually had to leave work early because I was in so much pain, I just couldn't take it anymore. Unfortunately, the only medication that works for me when I'm like that is Lyrica and I can't take while pregnant. So, I just have to grin and bear it. Oh well, it's all worth it.

So have fun looking at the pictures. I labeled them so they would be easier to understand. The head looks distorted, but it's normal. It's just the way the ultrasound machine's printer prints the pictures. It looks totally normal on the regular screen

First Appointment

Went to my first OB appointment today. The last one was with the nurse practitioner and she was just taking my history. This morning's appoinment was an actual pelvic check with my Ob. Everything is going along great. He said that I was perfect...of course, I said that I knew that hahaha. Anyhow, that's really the only update I have for you. Of course I have been listening to the little monkey every couple of days and the heartbeat is perfect and he/she moves around a lot. So, all in all everything is going great!

Labeled Picture

Figured I would label the picture so you could understand the ultrasound picture a little better.
To see the picture a little bigger so you can actually read my labels, all you have to do is click on it!

Growing, growing, growing!

Our little peanut is growing perfectly! We are 9 weeks and 3 days today
You can hardly tell what the heck it looks like on this ultrasound picture, but the baby is upside down. The big ol' head is on the bottom. It's crazy how much bigger it already is in just 3 weeks. You can see a little hand sticking out on the right hand side. Anyway, the heart was just beating away like crazy and the little monkey was moving around and even waved at mom and dad today! Soooooo excited! There is still just one baby in there. He/she was turning around to face us and moved around and started waving and kicking. It was the coolest thing ever. I wish I could do an ultrasound every week to see how he/she is growing, but now we don't have one again until we are about 18 weeks. Everything is moving along just fine. I feel great. My only complaint is that I have major insomnia but the nausea isn't that bad at all, I rarely ever throw up (only when I ignore the nausea and don't eat something), I do get fatigued once in a while, but I think that is mostly because I can't sleep half the time. So far so good, can't really complain about this pregnancy at all. So that's really all our news for now.

The most beautiful sight in the world!

We went for our ultrasound this morning and saw...ONE beautiful, strong little heartbeat!!!!! We are measuring 6wks 2 days and my due date is officially October 24th. It really is the size of an orange seed, but we saw that little heartbeat just going away. This little monkey is very well implanted, my ovaries look great. I can't tell you how excited we are. Mike saw the heartbeat right away and was excited. So to everyone who thought I was having twins (or more) sorry...I'm totally glad that it's just one at a time. My hcg is high but that's a good thing, means it's a strong pregnancy. I will attempt to post the picture from the ultrasound. Can't see much more than a big gestational sac and a little bean in between the little cursors, but I love it!
